What is Reiki?
Reiki means "Universal Life Energy". It is an ancient Japanese system of natural healing. Reiki is given through the laying on of hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is too high we feel scattered and over-stimulated. But when one's life force energy is balanced we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki can be used to promote personal balance and well-being, mental and emotional health, and physical healing.

Reiki Sessions:
After a brief consultation the Reiki Practitioner works with traditional hand placements lightly over the client's fully clothed body. During the session the client rests comfortably on a massage table. Clients most often will report a feeling of calm and well-being after a session.

Initial session is 75 minutes ($80). Future sessions may be scheduled for 60 minutes ($65) or 75 minutes ($80).

Reiki Training and Intensives:
Reiki is a complete healing system in itself and also is an excellent complement to other healing systems. It is easy to learn and also is very empowering. Anyone can learn and benefit from Reiki. No previous training needed. There are three levels of Reiki training that can be taken separately or together. Each training level is a day long workshop. Check Special Events for upcoming training sessions or contact us with interest.

Level 1 Objectives:
1. Learn the history of the Usui Healing System.
2. Heighten sensitivity of touch and distinguish sensations in hands.
3. Learn and demonstrate Reiki hand positions for treatments.
4. Learn which organ systems and energy centers correspond to the hand positions.
5. Complete a full Reiki exchange as both giving and receiving a session.
6. Discuss applications of Reiki in personal and professional settings.
7. Receive a 1st Degree attunement introducing the Reiki energy to your system.

Level 2 Objectives:
1. Review basic principles of Reiki 1st Degree.
2. Learn and practice Reiki II symbols for clearing and empowering, balancing mental and emotional energies, and distant healing.
3. Discuss applications of Reiki II symbols for personal use and professional practice.
4. Complete a full Reiki exchange as both giving and receiving a session.
5. Receive a 2nd Degree attunement which can strengthen Reiki energy.

Advanced Reiki/Reiki Master Objectives:
1. Review 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki information.
2. Learn and practice application of three new Master Symbols.
3. Receive instruction on and have practice time for giving Reiki attunements , including Master attunement.
4. Learn new information necessary to teach 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki, as well as Reiki Master classes
5. Receive a Master Level Attunement which strengthens the Reiki
energy and supports healing on all levels.
6. Discuss Reiki use in professional settings and for personal use.

Cost:
Level 1 $175
Level 2 $250
Both levels taken together $375
Advanced Reiki training/Reiki Master Level $600

Tuition includes class manuals, handouts, certificate of completion and on-going support. Written cancellation must be received 72 hours prior to class for a refund. Transfer of tuition to other class dates is possible. No refunds once class has begun. CEUs may be available when requested in advance. Additional fees apply.

About your instructor:
Sandi Hoover has worked in the healthcare setting since 1996. She first received Reiki during her first pregnancy. As a Registered Nurse she initially questioned the science behind Reiki, but quickly became hooked on the relaxation and intuitive aspects experienced during Reiki. She completed trainings with Reiki Master Cindy Chicoine in March of 2006 and January of 2007. Sandi is also a yoga and Nia instructor and enjoys healing through movement. She hopes to help you find your energetic balance.
